Principal's Corner
September 23, 2022
Dear Community Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood,
Fall feels to finally be in the air–and maybe for good this year? This ole’ principal loves pumpkins, changing leaves, and crisp, cold mornings, so I couldn’t be happier about the change of season.
Recently, our Communications Office ran a “#” campaign, and the winning # was “#ScoutNation.” In complete honesty, I love that our student body chose this one as I believe it embodies a spirit of community and belonging that we do strive to emulate, though sometimes falling short, at Lake Forest High School. Our students are wonderfully complex and unique individuals with amazing gifts, and it is easy to slip into the day to day activities of high school and forget to really see the individual.
If you are a student reading this, and I have failed to see you as the beautiful individual you are, I am sorry. If you are a parent reading this–you send your absolute heart and soul to our building each day, and they (and you) deserve nothing less than a commitment from your principal to love and cherish them always.
So, I commit to doing better:
I see you.
All of you.
I support you.
All of you.
I value you.
All of you.
And, I will always unconditionally love you.
All of you.
This I promise.
Much love and respect,
Erin/Dr. L.

Kenna Mc Bean - Act of Kindness
A HUGE SCOUT SHOUT OUT to Senior Kenna McBean
Kenna founded an organization called Desks Filled with Love which enables students from families in need to have access to beautiful backpacks filled with school supplies. Kenna raised funds and gathered supplies and organized and packed amazing backpacks and bags with everything an elementary student could ever need from pencils and markers to headphones and water bottles! She personally delivered 50 backpacks and bags to Glen Flora school one morning in early September. It was such an incredible surprise and such an incredible gift to the students and community. Thanks to Kenna, these students now have beautiful new backpacks and supplies. The smiles on their faces and the pride they exude with these new backpacks and supplies is so special to witness. Through her hard work and kind heart, Kenna has given love and hope to many children and families. We are deeply grateful and we want you to know how special Kenna is.
