7th and 8th Grade Screenings
Attention Parents/Guardians of 8th grade male students only: Clark Middle School will be conducting spinal screenings on Friday November 22nd, 2019, during your student’s 3rd period class. Any student with a 2019 athletic physical on file will not be screened. Please see letter.
On Tuesday December 3rd, 2019, all 7th grade students will be screened for vision and hearing during your student’s science class. Screening will take place in the library. Parents will be notified of the results of the screening only if professional follow-up is necessary.
On this same day, any 7th grade female student that does not have a 2019 athletic physical on file, will be screened for scoliosis during their PE class. Please see letter.
If, for religious reasons, you do not wish to have your child screened for scoliosis, you must submit an affidavit of religious exemption to the nurse’s office. Please see form.
Back To Pentathlon Breakfast
Drop Off and Pick Up
Parents, please remember not to let your student(s) out in the outside lane of the front drive through. It is a safety issue, as your students have to cross a lane of traffic. It also slows down the drop off for everyone, as the outside lane is where cars move to after students get out. Please help us keep all students safe!
IB Diploma Programme
8th grade parents/students, the window to participate in the admissions process for the IB Diploma Programme for the Class of 2024 ends Wednesday, November 20th. Please be sure you have reviewed all IB Diploma Programme information on the district website and completed the two-step admissions form process if you are interested in the program. Contact Jenna Gates, FHS IB Coordinator, at GatesJ@friscoisd.org with any questions you may have prior to Nov 20th.

Canvas
Canvas is our new learning management system (LMS), and it is taking the place of Learning Hub, Google Classroom, and class websites. Canvas provides an online platform in which students can interact with course material and activities. As parents, you can be an observer in the Canvas courses that your students are enrolled in this year. An observer can see due dates, announcements, and other course content but cannot participate in the course. The instructions provided will help you get started by creating a Canvas account and pairing it with your students.
Students may have already had an opportunity to log into Canvas during their first week of school. Students that need help getting logged in can use the resources included here. Students must log in and get a pairing code for their parents to sign up as observers.
We hope that this new tool increases efficiency as we partner with you in your child’s educational journey.
