We again thank all our classrooms and all community members who have participated so far in the renaming process at Boone. As we know, names are very personal and carry such meaning, and we acknowledge how important it was to each of you to have your name advance. However, as the process requires, many names were eliminated in the first round of voting. We are now left with 8 remaining names that will move to bracket-style voting. Whether your name is advancing or not, we hope you will continue to participate in the process and come to Boone to vote! There will be 3 rounds, with the first round taking place next week.

All students will have the opportunity to vote during the school day. All parents, guardians and community members are invited to come to Door 10 (Auditorium) at Boone to vote next week, during any of the following times:

Tuesday 5/3 - 8:00-8:30AM or 3:00-3:30PM

Wednesday 5/4 - 8:00-8:30AM or 3:00-3:30PM

Thursday 5/5 - 8:00-8:30AM or 3:00-3:30PM

Nuevamente agradecemos a todas nuestras aulas ya todos los miembros de la comunidad que han participado hasta ahora en el proceso de cambio de nombre en Boone. Como sabemos, los nombres son muy personales y tienen ese significado, y reconocemos lo importante que fue para cada uno de ustedes que su nombre avanzara. Queríamos que todos estuvieran al tanto de que este año en Boone celebraremos la Semana de Agradecimiento a los Maestros durante la semana del 9 al 13 de mayo, en reconocimiento de que no queríamos que se superpusieron las fechas en las que muchos en nuestra comunidad celebrarán Eid la próxima semana ( La Semana Nacional de Agradecimiento a los Maestros es del 2 al 6 de mayo). ¡Animamos a todos los estudiantes y familias a crear tarjetas, poemas, carteles, videos, etc... para mostrar a nuestros maestros y personal cuánto apreciamos todo lo que hacen por nosotros!

Enrollment is no longer limited to COVID-related conditions.

Qualifying students (PreK-Grade 12) must have a medical condition indicated on an active IEP/504 and their medical professional must determine that the student would benefit from the virtual learning format.

The application is open until July 1st; acceptances will be announced by July 15th. If demand exceeds capacity, acceptance will be determined by lottery. Qualifying students who were not accepted will be placed on a waitlist.

Parents/Guardians should complete this interest form (Spanish) to begin the application process. Questions/inquiries can be directed to VirtualSY23@cps.edu.

We encourage students and families to share about their celebrations and holidays throughout the year. If you have a family celebration or holiday that you would like to share, please complete this form, thank you! This weekend, many in our community will be celebrating Eid al-Fitr! Here is information about Eid from one of our Boone families:

Eid al-Fitr features two to three days of celebrations that include special morning prayers. People greet each other with “Eid Mubarak,” meaning “Blessed Eid” and with formal embraces. Sweet dishes are prepared at home and gifts are given to children and to those in need. In addition, Muslims are encouraged to forgive and seek forgiveness. Eid al-Fitr, as it follows the fasting of Ramadan, is also seen as a spiritual celebration of Allah’s provision of strength and endurance. Practices vary from country to country.

Parent Portal gives parents the ability to view students' grades in real time. If you are setting up your Parent Portal account for the first time, please visit the First Time Parent Portal Set-Up link. This is a one-time step and not necessary after every school year. Once you receive your email from Aspen to help set up your username and password, you can access Parent Portal at Aspen Parent Portal.

If you already have a Parent Portal account, but are running into technical issues (forgot password, locked out, etc), please email Boone's tech coordinator Patrick Chi (ptchi@cps.edu) so he can reset your account.
