From the Principal

Our students survived their winter MAP tests. Thanks to all the parents for getting the students to school on time and being sure they had a proper breakfast. Mr. Hopiard, Mrs. Rowe, and the level leaders did a fantastic job managing the computers, the schedule, staff, and students. These results will be used in the coming weeks to plan for instruction that will ensure continued student growth for the remainder of the year.

We are preparing for Catholic Schools Week and kindness will be the theme. Look for additional details regarding a family challenge that will take place throughout February. Ms. Milliken, our guidance counselor, has developed this program. We are excited to introduce these ideas to our students.

Many blessings,

Mrs. Molly Hibler

A note from the office

Winter has arrived in Ohio; we need to remember that our school building can be a little drafty. We encourage all students to have a school sweatshirt or sweater with them during these winter months. Girls are also encouraged to wear black, navy or gray tights or leggings under their uniform jumpers or skirts if the feels like temperature are above 20 degrees students do go outside.

Eliza Jennings Service Project Update

Below is a picture of one of resident's with the pillow made by one of our students. The residents wanted our students to appreciate people enjoying the fruits of their labor first hand. In her thank you note, she mentioned that she keeps this pillow on her bed all the time. Well done students!

Box Top collection throughout February

It's time to gather all your box tops. In February, we are asking families to send in saved box tops for the school! Earnings from Box Tops help our school in various ways, from new supplies, new gym equipment, repairs or projects.

Please note some of Box Top's submission guidelines:

* Bundle if you can in groups of 50 using and Ziploc type bag or envelope.

* Expired coupons are not accepted

* Coupons without full sight of date or letter product code located upper left-hand side cannot be accepted.

* Please do not count Bonus Coupons as part of your 50.

If you do not have 50, no a problem, send in any coupons collected so far so that they do not expire before our next drive. It is crucial that each submission has a homeroom number on it so that we can keep track of classroom totals. Congratulations to 4A who collected the last drive in October!

Check out the BOX-Top Bonus App to earn even more for the school. This app is in addition to the code on products. Upload your store receipt for bonus points. Log into boxtops4eduation.com to learn more.

The PTO appreciates your support! Thank you.

Spring Camps offered at Oberlin Heritage Center

While not many are thinking “Spring” in these first weeks of the New Year, we ARE thinking ahead at the Oberlin Heritage Center! This spring OHC staff will offer two sessions of Spring Break camps for local elementary students with the intriguing theme of “Horrible Histories and Promising Progress.” Through many engaging hands-on activities, children will learn about some of the people and events of the past that were truly terrible and learn how they pushed people to make improvements, for themselves and the world around them. See the attached flyer for additional information.
