Hello Scripps Families,
Over the next few weeks we will have a lot of activity at Scripps. Girls volleyball and wrestling contests begin, GAP clubs start running, we have our play performance this week and we begin moving into the new office area! We also begin looking to the 2023-2024 school year as this week is a big week for our 8th grade students. High School counselors will be here Wednesday, February 8 to discuss scheduling and LOHS is hosting a welcome night on February 9th.

LO Band Boosters Shoe Donation Drive
The Lake Orion Band Boosters will be partnering with Funds2org and hosting a used shoe donation drive that kicks-off in mid-January. This fundraiser helps off-set this unnecessary waste and help keep shoes out of landfills. The gently used shoes that we collect will be consolidated and shipped by Funds2org to developing countries such as Haiti, Cambodia, and Botswana where they will be sold to small business owners for a very low price. In turn, the shoes will be sold by these small business owners to communities in need of proper footwear, at an inexpensive price. This helps create a path out of poverty for these small business owners in countries where there are limited, if any, job opportunities that pay a living wage.
Text Messages from LOCS
LOCS parents and staff who are interested in receiving text messages from the district and the student’s school through School Messenger must opt in to receive them. If a parent/guardian is not receiving text messages from LOCS and is interested, please opt in by texting Y to the number 67587. More details are available in the attached form.
