Vision and Mission

Students engage in rigorous, high quality, biliterate academics which prepare them for college and career. Esperanza students and families take responsibility for their learning which allows them to be academically strong in two languages. With a growth mindset, they are unique individuals, who critically think and are determined to succeed. Students show respect for themselves, others and the environment.

Through PLC’s teacher are able to plan for mindful and purposeful instruction. Teachers collaborate to implement rigorous instruction, that meets the needs of all students. Teachers engage in peer observations to receive and give constructive feedback. Teachers use data to drive instruction and make clear plans for corrective instruction. We engage the family and community in quarterly meetings to review growth and set goals.

A few years back we had decided to always have the sub go out to yard duty in our absence. We decided that the sub would go out even if it wasn't our official day for yard duty. When you are our please put in your sub plan that the sub needs to go out for yard duty.

book room and supply room

The book room is now a working space. Yvonne meets with her groups in the D-pod book room. She will put a schedule on the door so you know when she will be working with her groups. We need to help keep the space organized and tidy. She has done a lot of work in fixing up the space to make it her working room. Please so not leave bins of books outside or inside without putting them away. If you have used book for guided reading it is your responsibility to put them back where they go. That means in the correct book bag on the correct shelf. I had sent this out two months ago. We have not been doing a good job of keeping the book room tidy and putting books back. It is your responsibility to put books back where they go. Also the table in the book room is Yvonne's working space. Do not place books, bins or other things on her desk. Also please do not take her supplies. If there are pencils, chart paper or folders in her room they are for her and her students.

For many years we have been asking each other to keep the supply room tidy. It has been cleaned out and reorganized countless times. This year a parent helped place things on the shelves and left the entire floor picked up. As time progresses more and more junk was dumped into the room. I have changed the lock to ensure that this does not continue to happen. It will be cleaned out again and we will be ordering supplies to keep in the room. I do apologize for the inconvenience but feel it is necessary. Please let myself or Mrs. Pena know when you need supplies.

The wireless has been upgraded! There should be no more connectivity problems.

Instructional Rounds

We received some really positive feedback from the participants. Maryam will finish typing it up and share the feedback on the drive by Sunday evening. If you have any questions and or comments we can discuss the feedback at Wednesday's PD
