Some of the Applications of Mitragyna Speciosa Resin

If you have a little bit of experience using Mitragyna Speciosa in powdered formulations, then the next step naturally is to try extracts. One of the most enduringly popular forms of extract is the resin which is a hardened, brick of concentrated bioactive alkaloids from the Kratom leaf. Resin extracts are known for being highly potent with strength that is untouched by most other capsules or powders. In addition to these benefits, it is also easy to use once you understand some key facts. While it may look like an intimidating black brick of pure Mitragyna Speciosa, there is really no reason to be scared off by this supreme product that is typically marketed to advanced users.

How are resins made? The process is fairly simple and can even be attempted at home, provided you have the right equipment and an abundance of patience. For one thing, you will need t get raw Kratom laves and boil them in an alkaloid solution. This solution is typically made of liquid ethanol with the intent of removing as much of the active alkaloid compounds from the leaves as possible. The alcohols bind to the alkaloids and pull or extract them from the leafy plant matter. What is left is a liquid mixture that needs to be boiled off so that any excess water is evaporated.

Once the water has been evaporated off of the alkaloids and the leafy remains have been sifted out, you will be left with a dark paste that contains all of the important natural chemicals. This paste is usually shaped into a square or a round pie and then left to dry for several hours or days. After the drying has occurred, you will be presented with a dark, hard rock-like version of Kratom resin. This resin is extremely concentrated and you will often need only 1 tenth of your normal dosage to get the same results.

To use the resin, break it apart and swallow it with water. Or you can drop a small chunk into a piping hot cup of tea to make a simple Kratom tea. The tea is said to bring out the potency of the alkaloids even more, though this has not been scientifically proven. There are lots of other recipes you can check out if you feel like being more inventive. Some people even try smoking the resin, though we think this is a pretty silly way of using it and not likely to give you very good results.

Resins are usually more expensive than powders because of the extra processing costs, but remember that your dosage will be significantly smaller. This can actually make it a lot cheaper in the long run, especially if you are a heavy user of Kratom extracts.
