Digital Curriculum

The digital curriculum tools we already have in place are offering us more and more support as we undertake remote learning. Click the programs below to see their special support, training, and PD opportunities. Contact me with more specific questions.

Google Meet

I've created two sets of resources on Google Meet for those of you who would like to try using it. Please remember that this is an optional tool and that not all of your students will be able to sign on.

Personal Connection

For those of you who are ready to include a personal connection in your eLearning lessons, here is my page of some recommendations for recording audio or video. I really do believe it makes a difference when your students can hear your voice and/or see your face.

YouTube

I do recommend sending your videos to your school YouTube channel (just sign into YouTube with your school Google account!). This will enable you to embed your video right in your Smore page, which I think is most user-friendly for students. If you do not want just anyone to be able to find your video on YouTube, just set the privacy to "unlisted". This will allow it to be embedded and viewable by students, but not findable in a YouTube or Google Search.

Data Reports

I am struggling to determine if it is a wise use of time and worthwhile to run my usual data reports for March, April and May. I'd love to hear your thoughts! If you have some to share or would like to request to receive your usual reports, please email me!

How Can I Help?

Supporting you during this crazy and unprecedented time is important to me, so I am trying to make myself as available as possible. Here are a few of the ways you can reach out to me for answers to your questions, suggestions, demonstrations, etc.

  • On eLearning days: You can expect a very quick (sometimes immediate) reply from me by email just like you are on-call for your students.
  • On non-learning days: I will be checking my email once every few hours and will respond to all emails at those times.
  • On Mondays-Fridays, I will make myself available for an hour each weekday for a live Google Meet session for anyone who needs help, suggestions, has questions, or just needs to interact with another human!
  • Practice Sessions:
    • Want to try Google Meet, but not sure you're ready to launch a session with students yet? Practice with me! Just shoot me a date, time and your meeting code. I'll be there and help make sure you know how to use the tool according to our guidelines. (Remember, Google Meet is completely optional. You don't have to use it at all.)
    • I can also do practice sessions of other tools with you or test out something in your eLearning lesson for you to make sure it's working properly before you send it out.
