Bee Bot Fractions and Decimals
4th Grade-Task Cards-Review
Computer Science Standards:
Grades 3-5: Create an algorithm to solve a problem as a collaborative team. Examine logical reasoning to predict outcomes of an algorithm. Create an algorithm to solve a problem while detecting and debugging logical errors within the algorithm.
Computer Science Vocabulary:
sequence: an ordered step of instructions
algorithm: a step-by-step process to complete a task
debugging: the process of finding and correcting errors (bugs) in programs
pair programming: collaborating with a partner to develop and/or execute a program. An example of pair programming might be one person is the driver (the one working the hardware), and one is the navigator (the person sharing the code to the driver and checking that it makes sense).
Task Card Directions:
Print out sets of task cards for each group of students and place the task cards on your Bee-Bot Map. The driver of the Bee-Bot will select a task card he wishes to go to, for example, task card 3. Students can also use dice or number cubes and roll to see which task card they have to go to. The programmer/navigator will write the code to get to the task card. The driver will run the code to land on the task card. One student can be the debugger. The driver will solve the task card question. A checker in the group will see if the student answered the task card correctly-he will have the answer guide to the task cards. The students will take turns with the jobs: driver, programmer/navigator, debugger, and answer checker.
