Jaguar Tracks
November 4th
Dear JE community,
Our Veteran's day assembly was an incredible example of the strength of our community. Our families put together such a warm and special breakfast for our Veteran's and their families. It was beautiful to see families enjoying this time together in recognition of such a special day. Our staff stayed after school on Wednesday to decorate the gym in Red, White and Blue! We hung posters that present and former students made, images of our Veterans and streamers in Patriotic colors. On the day of the assembly, the excitement was high! Our students were proud of their classmates who participated in public speaking, singing and dancing. The sense of community was impalpable as our Jaguars cheered on students from different grade levels and participated in any way they could! We had such a wonderful showing of community members, Veterans, families and students in our gym to acknowledge such a special day for our country.
Looking ahead, we have our family conferences coming up. We look forward to seeing you, sharing about your student's progress and talking through areas we can push your child further.
Next week, we do not have school on Tuesday or Friday. The following week, we have a half day on Wednesday (12:45 dismissal) and no school on Friday the 18th to support conferences. Please mark these dates on your calendars!
Separately, it has been wonderful to see so many families here to volunteer, and participate in Mystery Reading!
Have a wonderful November Weekend!
Caitlin Shelburne

Reading Public Schools is a METCO District
"Since its founding during the peak of the Civil Rights Movement, the METCO program has enrolled tens of thousands of Boston students of color in predominately white school districts, creating the opportunity for those districts to experience the advantages of learning and working in a racially and ethnically diverse setting."
Found Family Program
Please take a look at the attached document detailing our “Found Family” Program. With the collaboration of 8th grade students from Parker Middle School and all Elementary PTO’s we produced the name “Found Family,” and this document for our district Found Family program. What does Found Family mean? “A group of people who find themselves united in a family-bond based on shared experiences, mutual understanding, and interpersonal connection. Found Family is not biological but found when placed in a new place.”
