Digital Learning Anchor School Showcase highlights work of new initiative

VBCPS launched its Digital Learning Anchor School initiative this year in 11 schools to study best practices in digital learning and device implementation. Students and staff in this cadre of schools will share examples of their work as well as lessons learned at the Digital Anchor School Showcase April 20 from 5:30-7 p.m. at Great Neck Middle School. The event is open to the public and, following an opening session with remarks from Superintendent Aaron Spence, attendees will have the opportunity to visit exhibits from each school. More information about the ongoing work of the Digital Learning Anchor Schools is shared on their respective blogs found on www.vbschools.com. Contact Bill Johnsen, director of instructional technology, at William.Johnsen@vbschools.com or 757-263-1070 for information about the upcoming showcase.

Best Wildlife Cams

Nothing beats spotting wildlife in the great outdoors, but just because you're stuck in a classroom, doesn't mean you and your students have to miss these outdoor adventures. Some of the best wildlife cams are on America’s public lands, places that Interior works every day to protect for future generations. Check out four amazing wildlife cams -- they’re sure to keep you riveted!

Education Foundation Grant Opportunities

Both the Schoolwide Application (comprehensive project awards $2,000 to $5,000) and Innovative Learning Project Application (awards up to $2,000) are linked from vbcps.com.

These Spring grant applications are due May 6!
