December 2021- Enon Elementary School
Principal's Message
It's hard to believe we are already at the close of 2021! I wanted to say thank you to everyone who supported our recent food drive. GRAND TOTAL = 1,280 items collected! Thank you to all our generous giving gators for helping support our famililes.
This month we look forward to our PTO Santa Shop and our holiday parties. Thank you so much to our PTO for their work to coordinate these events. Each student is asked to send back our permission slip that went home this week in order to participate in the food portion of the event. All food will be store bought and individually wrapped. Holiday party times are listed in the calendar below.
Quarterly Instructional Overviews
At Enon, as part of our School Innovation and Improvement Plan, we are focusing closely on student growth in Reading and Math by differentiating our instruction to meet each student where they are and provide remediation as necessary. Specialized reading groups from our Reading Specialist, PALS tutors or before school CARES Tutoring groups in Reading and Math help to supplement instruction. We continue to encourage students to utilize Lexia and Dreambox to support their learning and as always, encourage them to continue to read and practice math facts at home. Your partnership is key and we appreciate all you do to support learning.
CCPS also has a curriculum guide that is based on the Virginia Standards of Learning. This link may be helpful to summarize the curriculum each grade level covers each quarter.
Health Reminders
As we continue to navigate the pandemic, I want to say thank you for your continued focus on keeping our kids healthy and following our guidelines on when to keep students home. I'm providing this information on student daily health again here for your reference.

Bus Loading Update
Transportation has continued to hire new drivers and adjust our second loads. Please continue to use this link to check on times leaving Enon each day.
New Office Staff
We want to welcome our new office manager, Cereta Setzer! Ms. Setzer joins us from New Kent County and we are excited to have her join our team. Ms. Setzer joins our registrar Angie McMillan and attendance secretary Danette Fairman in keeping our Enon office going each day!
As always, don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season with your family and look forward to working with you in 2022!
