Lenin was born on April 22, 1870 at Simbirsk, Russian Empire. His full name was Vladimir Ilich Ulyanov. He was a revolutionary and the chairman of the Soviet Union. Two of Lenin's interests included going outdoors and playing chess. Being very fond of Marxism, he became a Marxist leader. He also founded the Bolsheviks and took over the Russian government in the Bolshevik Revolution. Now in control of the government, Lenin made peace with Germany, left World War One, and took land belonging to the rich and divided it amongst the peasants. He also began the Russian Civil War, supported communism, started the New Economic Policy, and established the Soviet Union. Lenin finally died of a stroke on January 21, 1924 at Gorki, Soviet Union.
