Youth Transition Series
My child is approaching 12, now what?
Why does the Transition Individual Educational Plan (TIEP) look different that my child's previous IEPs? What is a Post Secondary Goal, how is it different from my child's previous IEP?
Will there still be domain goals in the TIEP (Transition Individualized Education Plan)?
Why is it important to know about Post Secondary Transition? How does a Transition IEP prepare my child for life after high school? Who else might at the IEP table now? (**sneak peek** "VR" also known as Vocational Rehabilitation could be a great addition to your youth's Transition Team; http://www.rehabworks.org/stw_FAQs.shtml).
To answer some of these questions, this month, our workshops will focus on transition for youth. Transition planning is an ongoing process that begins at age 12 to prepare students with disabilities for life after high school. It requires planning, skill development, and a network of support. Join us in this workshop as we explore the transition planning process for youth living with disabilities.
