A Message from the Principal
Lauren Meeks
January 18, 2019
Dear Parents,
We've had another great week of learning at Parkside. In honor of School Board Appreciation, our students made thank you cards and posters. These will be presented to our school board members at next week's school board meeting. We appreciate all that our school board does.
Lately, we have noticed an over abundance of deliveries coming into school during the day. Whenever possible, please send all needed items with your children in the morning. We do understand there are occasions when items need to be delivered during the school day. If this is necessary, please be sure to bring the items before 9:00 a.m. if possible so that we can deliver these items to your students.
Because we are a large campus with many students who use the carpool line, we want to remember that student safety is our top priority. Remember to follow the flow of traffic and remain in the line as you pull through to the exit instead of cutting into the flow of traffic and causing a traffic jam.
Many thanks to our parents who serve on the Parkside Site Based Planning Committee. We enjoyed spending time in classrooms to focus on student engagement in their learning.
A 3rd grade parent meeting will be hosted next Wednesday in the library at 6:00 p.m. for the Theater Arts Club. Please see details below!
Have a wonderful three day long weekend with your families!

Volunteer Opportunity
We are in need of Watch Dog volunteers for the upcoming "Nachos and Numbers" event on Saturday, January 26th. The event will provide fun and interactive math-based games for our students, and the reward will be plenty of nachos! There are two time slots for volunteer shifts, meaning you can help us out and still enjoy plenty of time with your family playing games and eating snacks!
