Elizabeth School District Superintendent earns Rural Service Award
Bissonette has advocated for adequate and equitable funding of rural school districts for several years. In an effort to create greater awareness of the funding inequities, and to prompt a long-term solution at the state level, he has shared information and research with superintendents, school district boards of education, state education leaders, legislators, and many others.
Greater awareness of the funding disparities has been created as a result of Bissonette's work and his efforts and expertise have been highlighted in local, state and national media.

FBLA's Boeing visit proves insightful
The Elizabeth High School's Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter took a field trip to Boeing’s Aurora office recently.
The students heard from employees about the projects that Boeing is involved in, both in commercial and defense work. They learned about the many job opportunities that Boeing has across the United States. Students also watched a video about the Mars Mission that generated excitement about the prospect of a human stepping foot on Mars in their lifetime.
Boeing concluded the day with a talk about how important college internships are and how they can directly lead to full-time jobs right out of college. The students felt very privileged to attend such a beneficial and fascinating field trip at Boeing.
