What Is It?
The 6 Step Nutrition Challenge is a 6 week challenge that will increase your knowledge and discipline in the area of nutrition! It will also instill some healthy habits! Let's get ready for an eating overhaul and changes in lifestyle habits. Each week will build on the last and serve as the next step. Our goal is to walk through this with you! Let's take it step by step, in order of importance. In order to reach the top, you're gonna need a little push!
Each week for 6 weeks we will kick off with a live, interactive workshop! Every Monday (week 2 will meet on Wednesday, July 6th) we will host a workshop to kick your week off! Step by step, week by week we will supply your toolbox and give you a fresh challenge. Over the course of the 6 weeks, you will have the arsenal for your holistic health program.

Week 1:
Healthy Pantry Make-Over: Utilize the Clean Eating Grocery Guide (provided at workshop) to help you create a clean pantry and start your challenge off right!
- Learn what items can sabotage your healthy nutrition challenge!
- Learn how to read labels and identify hidden “culprits” in our food supply.
- Let’s talk about navigating that grocery store!
Week 2:
Continue with week 1 and begin to incorporate 6-8 clean meals each week into your food plan! (Recipes handed out at workshop).
- Learn how to create wholesome and “clean” meals and snacks that the whole family will enjoy.
- Learn new websites to go to for finding fast and easy recipes and meal ideas that fit into your nutrition plan.
- Let’s talk about meals that YOU want to modify!
Week 3:
Continue with weeks 1 & 2. Now, eliminate all simple sugar, or added sugar from your diet! See list of 56 names of sugar (handouts at workshop).
- Learn to identify sugar from various sources in our food supply.
- Learn why we want to minimize this “culprit” in our diet.
- Let’s talk about the effects sugar has on the body and how to “break the sugar habit!”
Week 4:
Make sure you are choosing 3-5 servings of dark, rich colored veggies daily and a minimum of 3 servings of fresh fruit daily, no fruit juice!
- Learn the “Clean 15" list of what to purchase organic!
- Learn the nutritional differences in choosing fresh vs. frozen and canned fruit and veggies.
- Let’s talk about fiber in our diet, what it is and why we need it!
Week 5:
Continue the good work from week 1-4. Add only clean beverages to meal plan, avoiding all soda, and sweetened beverages.
- Learn what is considered a “clean beverage.”
- Learn to identify hidden “culprits” in our beverages.
- Let’s talk about this source of hidden calories!
Week 6:
Continue all of the above; begin to add appropriate snacks if needed using the protein, carbohydrate, fat combination as described on “Achieving the Right Balance” Sheet.
- Learn why we incorporate all the macro-nutrients in our snacks.
- Learn to create your own healthy and clean snacks.
- Do we need “snacks” in our meal plan?

How Do I Win the Gold?
- Touch base with your accountability partner at least once a week for 4 weeks.
- Attend 4 of the 6 workshops.
- Keep a food journal for 4 weeks.
Silver:
- Touch base with your accountability partner at least once a week for 5 weeks.
- Attend 5 of the 6 workshops.
- Keep a food journal for 5 weeks.
Gold:
- Touch base with your accountability partner at least once a week for 6 weeks.
- Attend 6 of the 6 workshops.
- Keep a food journal for 6 weeks.
