Tips for Success
- Please ensure your child has a meal before going to school. Meals are not provided at school. 7-Day meal kits are available every Wednesday for pickup at the following locations: www.fwps.org/schoolmeals.
- Families will need to limit the number of items coming back and forth from home to school—items should be left at school each day.
- School supplies, independent reading books, paper and pencil work, and math materials will be provided to scholars to use during their in-person days.

Calling all Silver Lake Parents! Don't Miss Your Chance to Lead and Bring Fun to Your Child's School!
We need three parents to step into leadership roles for the 2021/2022 school year. For fun PTA-sponsored events like school dances, family movie nights, field trips, or other activities to happen next school year, we need parents like you to help lead and plan. The PTA must vote on nominations for the open Silver Lake PTA positions of treasurer, vice president, and president during our May 6th PTA general meeting. This means we need you to volunteer today! Without these roles being filled, the PTA cannot continue next year.
The open PTA leadership roles are:
Treasurer (requires approximately 2-3 hours per month): This position maintains financial reports and helps to pay invoices. They pay yearly fees and attend monthly meetings to report on the PTA finances. Along with the President, they reconcile accounts and helps to establish a yearly budget. The treasurer also manages the membership system as needed.
Vice President (requires 2-3 hours per month): Works closely with the PTA President and board to move plans forward. They will help to plan the master calendar for the year of PTA activities. Their help with processing new memberships may also be required. They may lead meetings occasionally.
President (requires 3-5 hours per month): Calls meetings of the board as needed to vote and to approve activities, budget and appointments. They meet with the PTA board and the school administration to set goals and make plans for the year. They design a master calendar for the year of PTA activities. Along with the Treasurer, they reconcile accounts and helps to establish a yearly budget. They work to connect with the school community and to welcome new members.
Please reach out to us today at silverlakepta2016@gmail.com, or call Corvie Thykkuttathil (current PTA President) at (206) 214-8059, if you’d like more information about the leadership positions. Our new PTA board members will be supported with training from the Washington State PTA as well as by current board members. Ongoing training on basic accounting and record-keeping skills will be provided by the current board.
The PTA Treasurer and President positions for the 2021/2022 school year must be filled by May 6 for the PTA to continue.
PTA Meetings:
- May 6th from 6-7pm
- June 3rd from 6-7pm

Change in Immunization Law
Due to this change, in order for scholars to return to in-person instruction, they must provide documentation of proof of immunizations.
Our school nurse has been working hard to reach out to families of scholars who are currently non-compliant. Reminder letters have been sent out and calls are being made.
The school office has a list of scholars who are currently non-compliant, if you have a question regarding your child's immunizations we can help you with the information you gave us upon registration.
These are open to families from any county. For an appointment call (253) 403-1767.
Additional vaccination resources are available at the following websites:
