One Lunch Info
As we discussed at our March 30 staff meeting, we will be returning to our One Lunch schedule April 23 through May 4. We have collected input from students and staff on a variety of topics to make our One Lunch experience even better. Based on this input, we are adjusting some of the duty stations and looking to offer more options for students. All teachers are asked to self-identify one hall duty by Wednesday (4/18). Those who do not identify a duty on the sheet will be assigned one.
You are also encouraged to indicate an optional activity (i.e. club meetings, opening your room up, supervising in the gym, teaching meditation). Office hours will remain the same as they were during our previous One Lunch period. To sign up for your preferences, use the following links.

On Thursday, the video announcements will include information for students about the reinstatement of One Lunch as well as expectations for them. We are also working on posters to be displayed around the building and flyers for the classrooms. Many thanks to everyone who came to the planning meetings and helped put this information together.

I Make A Difference Award
This week's recipient of the I Make a Difference badge is Angela Henry. Last week's recipient, Laura Newsham writes, "Angela’s positive attitude and willingness to help fosters close student and parent relationships. She is more than a teacher, she is a mentor and role model for her students. She always has her student’s best interests at heart. Angela thinks outside the box like playing music in the hallway in order to help students prepare for their district assessment. Her hard work and creative thinking earned the Landstown high school chamber orchestra SUPERIOR scores from EVERY judge. Her love of stringed instruments is contagious and is evident in the growth of Landstown High School orchestra program. Thank You Angela Henry for making a difference at Landstown High School."
Kudos
Kudos to our World Languages Honor Societies for their work in the amphitheater!
Congratulations to our TCE teachers for having the greatest number of students pass industry credentialing tests in the city!
Kudos to our junior class and sponsors Lindsey Clouser & Danielle Gish for a lovely ring dance. Thanks to everyone who came out to help chaperone.
Congratulations to Suzanne Andleton whose artwork is featured on the Teaching Artists Reception Invitation
Eagle Nation Mentors Needed
We need the names of rising sophomores or juniors who would make good Eagle Nation Mentors. These students do not necessarily just need to be "A" students, but are students who you think are responsible, trustworthy, dependable and are students who would serve as strong mentors to our incoming Freshman class. These mentors will work over the summer on team building and leadership skills, they will lead Eagle Nation Orientation in August and will help facilitate next year's Advisories. The students you list on this google form will be notified that "someone" thinks they'd make a great mentor, they'll be given information on the mentorship program and directed to an online application. You may recommend more than one student. Thanks so much for your help in making Eagle Nation a great place to work and go to school!

Counseling Corner
April 24th is the ACCESS College Commitment Day. Roughly 70 seniors will be attending the special event at Ted Constant Center.
April 25th and 26th is Dual Enrollment testing. Current juniors who signed up for Dual Enrollment English will be taking a field try to TCC to take the VPT.
April 25th next parent/teacher conference. Third quarter grades may result in several conferences. It is helpful if counselors and teachers are reaching out to parents and communicating as a team in order to reduce the number of scheduled conferences. If you’re unavailable to attend a conference it is important to inform the counselor and provide a progress report and feedback for the parents and students.
Special Education Endorsement Initiative
Teachers Reaching Youths Intervention Training (T.R.Y.I.T.) is a field-based endorsement program for teacher assistants with a bachelor's degree and general education teachers in the school division. The collaborative initiative between ODU and VBCPS utilizes a cohort design and focuses on best practices and strategic integration for students identified with high incidence disabilities. If you are interested in this training opportunity, you can learn more about the endorsement program by attending one of the meetings at the Virginia Beach Higher Education Center, Room 242, Tuesday, April 24, or Thursday, May 10, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Parking will be permissible in Lot 3.

Moving SharePoint Content to Office 365
DOT is preparing for the migration of the SharePoint-based department and school Intranet websites from their existing, internally hosted location to Office 365. The first phase of the migration will require staff to relocate their individual My Site and internal OneDrive files to their Office 365 OneDrive using the detailed instructions found here. Staff will receive one terabyte of data storage in their Office 365 OneDrive; however, it is recommended that staff members move only the files that are actually needed. My Sites will be set to read only on May 15 and access will be completely removed on June 18. Staff should move files before these deadlines. If you have any questions or concerns, please see Mr. McCollum, Erik, or Krissy.
