Cool as a Cucumber
Fruits & Vegetables
During circle time, we read Goodnight Moon, labeled school supplies, answered yes/no questions, and worked on following one- and two-step directions. For P.E. this week, we reviewed our track and field events from last week (e.g., going over hurdles, bending down to go under the rope), and played social games including Cat and Mouse and Duck Duck Goose. In speech rotations, we continued to brush up on our actions, and used our language to describe what boys and girls were doing in pictures (e.g., he is jumping, she is eating). We are getting good at that! We also worked on categories and named objects from a variety of categories (e.g., clothing, animals, food, household items). We played a game in which we picked an object out of a box and had to name the correct category it came from before setting it on a matching picture. We did great!
With our friends from Room 4, we played fruit and vegetable bingo and answered where questions (e.g., where do you buy food?, where do you cook food?). In the toy area, we played grocery store. We had grocery lists, found the foods on the lists, put them in our shopping bags, and took turns being the cashier!
