#memorablemeaningfulmeasurable
Welcome Back and a dash of "SPRING Cherry Blossoms"
Welcome Back! I hope you all enjoyed a well-deserved break with family and loved ones/friends. Now that we are back, we are in our final push of this school year. I hope you are back rejuvenated and geared up to end this school year filled with renewed determination and recharged for the work ahead. Thank you for your work thus far on behalf of students and their families. There is so much each of you should be proud of; looking forward to ending our school year filled with #memorablemeaningmeasurable opportunities that has leads to increased student success!
During this past week, Ms Giron took a group of Robinson students to Washington DC. She shared several pictures of their visit, but this one of cherry blossom tree just resonates beauty and life. The significance of the cherry blossom tree in Japanese culture goes back hundreds of years. In their country, the cherry blossom represents the fragility and the beauty of life. It’s a reminder that life is almost overwhelmingly beautiful but that it is also tragically short. When the cherry blossom trees bloom for a short time each year in brilliant force, they serve as a visual reminder of how precious and how precarious life is. So, when Japanese people come together to view the cherry blossom trees and marvel at their beauty, they aren’t just thinking about the flowers themselves, but also about the larger meaning and deep cultural tradition the cherry blossom tree.
In a weird sort of way, I see the beauty of the "SPRING Cherry Blossom" as the BLOSSOMING of our JROB students into Scholars and Citizens.
