Pacific Ridge Principal's Update
Week of Monday, October 5th - Friday, October 9th
Congratulations Mrs. Stewart!
OASL Paraprofessional of the Year
Go Guardian & School Issued Chromebooks
We ask that our students use their school-managed Google accounts and school-managed devices for educational purposes only. We encourage families to discuss rules for appropriate internet usage with your child, and to reinforce lessons of digital citizenship. We also highly encourage you to report any potential cyberbullying or other sensitive issues to us.
To help keep your child safer and more scholarly online, our teachers use online services provided by Go Guardian to track students’ website usage. It may be helpful to know that over 10,000 other schools use Go Guardian to protect 5.5 million students across the world, and the Global Educator Institute has endorsed this product.
We have chosen Go Guardian services to help protect students against harmful and inappropriate online material, help students stay “scholarly” and more focused when learning online, and help assess students’ progress towards class assignments. Go Guardian’s web-based services operate on our school’s managed Chrome accounts when a student is logged into Chrome or a Chromebook with their school email address.
Go Guardian allows teachers to see their student's screens during live teaching. This is extremely helpful when a student is having trouble navigating to online assignments or accessing their learning platform. Teachers are able to help their students easily resolve any issues because they can see exactly what the student is seeing.

Preschool Promise Program at Pacific Ridge Elementary
We are delighted to be adding more puffins to the nest this year by expanding our programs at Pacific Ridge to include Pacific Ridge Beginning School.
If you have a 3 or 4 year old, and are interested in Preschool Promise, click the link below to complete a screening form. Filling out this form does not guarantee your child a spot in the Preschool Promise program, but it is the first step in determining your child’s eligibility for the program. http://shorturl.at/deqE2
If you need assistance in completing this form, please call our office at Pacific Ridge Elementary School.
For program-related questions, please contact Racheal Atnip at the NWRESD Early Learning Hub. Email: email@example.com Phone: 503-614-3188.

FREE Breakfast & Lunch K-5
Updated Delivery Times!
SSD – FREE Grab & Go Breakfast/Lunch Meals for Ages 0-18 UPDATED and starting 9/21/2020
For daily drop off locations https://www.seaside.k12.or.us/foodservice
All meal route delivery is between 10:30 am-11:30 am, Monday-Friday. Two routes have extended delivery times: Black Bus 11:27 am-12:21 pm and Purple Bus 11:29 am – 12:20 pm.
During CDL, children can enjoy meals at no charge through a federally funded nutrition program open to all kids aged 0-18 years. No applications are necessary to get a breakfast/lunch sack. All children and teens are welcome. USDA has granted a waiver to the Oregon Department of Education so the Seaside School District can provide a grab-n-go meal service (breakfast and lunch) due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meals are served at a designated site and children and/or an authorized adult may pick up meals for consumption off site. Only one grab-n-go meal is allowable per child; however, an authorized adult may request additional meals for children that were unable to come to the delivery location. Adults need to provide a written note to the school district meal staff requesting the number of meals the child is allowed to pick up on a daily basis for other 0-18 children in the household but not at the meal stop.
Please help us continue to provide free breakfast and lunch to all of our K-5 students!
Pacific Ridge Elementary School will continue to participate in a Universal Lunch and School Breakfast Program for the current school year (2020-2021). All students enrolled at the Elementary school may participate in the breakfast and lunch program at no charge to them.
For the last two years families have not been required to fill out Free and Reduced Applications. This year, it will be critical for the future of this program that all of our families complete applications. Use the link to complete your Household application for Free and Reduced Meals or you can get a paper copy when you pick up your child's Chromebook & Learning Kit.
