Hello everyone-

Thank you so much for your donations of sanitizing wipes and sanitizer! I seriously can't thank you enough for your generosity! I know this is very reassuring to staff to be able to quickly and easily clean our surfaces regularly.

I hope you and the kids are enjoying our One Book, One School text, Wishtree. Mrs. Maldonado has added a tree to our library and the kids will be writing their wishes on fabric to hang from the tree.

Wednesday is the Day of Play!!! YAY!!!! Students will be playing all day without play on technology. Please click here to learn more about the Global School Day of Play. This time will help students to build their creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration skills. It will be a great day to foster relationships and deepen connections with one another.

Thank you again to everyonee for your support with Prop R. We had our ribbon cutting event on Friday afternoon. Thank you to all our student helpers, school board members, PTO and REG board members who were able to show up and support us.

Student Support Communication

We have finished our winter benchmarking and have met as a team (teachers, interventionists, SSD, Reach, counselors). During our meetings we examine our data and identify nest steps for whole class instruction, small group instruction, and individual students. If your child has been identified as needing additional support tin either academics or social/emotional areas, a letter will be sent home with your child this week. Our letters identify what support is needed, who will provide the support, and frequency/duration of the support.

I will be sharing our updated building academic data at our next PTO meeting. Please reach out with any questions you have regarding student supports.

KSD Health Information

On Tuesday, January 4, we shared an update on KSD Health and Safety Protocols with information and reminders. Our continued goal is to provide a safe, in-person learning environment. This includes ensuring quality instruction and adequate supervision for our students each day. As case counts and absences continue to affect KSD schools, we will keep you updated and provide information as promptly as possible.

Hear more about these protocols in the newest episode of KSD Talks, the official podcast of the Kirkwood School District. Listen at kirkwoodschools.org/ksdtalks

As always, the well-being and health of our students and staff is our priority. Thank you for your support.

Reporting Postive Covid Cases

Per our commitment to transparency throughout the pandemic, the KSD COVID Dashboard will continue to provide information about positive cases in the District. View the dashboard by visiting kirkwoodschools.org/coviddashboard

The primary role of the dashboard is to provide data specific to the potential for in-school transmission. One of the ways we can ensure the dashboard is as up-to-date as possible is quick and accurate reporting of any student that tests positive for COVID. Families can self report a positive case by using the form below:

Report a Positive Case

Thank you for your assistance in ensuring our data is as current as possible.

Additionally, St. Louis County provides a map by zip code and school district to track community cases. It's available at: https://data.stlouisco.com/apps/covid-19-cases-by-zip-code-in-stl-county/explore
