STUDENT-LED CONFERENCES - MARCH 9
Our teachers are looking forward to meeting with some of you during our March Student-Led Conferences. Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, March 9th from 1:00-3:30 and from 4:30-7:30.
These conferences are by request only.
Classroom teachers will be sending out requests to individual parents by Tuesday, February 28th if a conference is needed. If you do not receive a request by this date, you have a chance to request one by reaching out to the teacher directly or by using the links provided in next week's edition of this newsletter. Special Education and Title I Teachers will also be reaching out to families individually to schedule conferences as needed. Specials teachers will be available during designated conference times should you have questions or concerns. Students are encouraged to attend these conferences with their parent/ guardian, but it is not required.
Since only some of our students will have conferences, ALL of our students will be bringing home materials to hold student-led conferences with you at home.

Attendance Works!
Your child’s school attendance is extremely important to his/her future. In an effort to improve our average daily attendance rate at Twain, we’ve recently sent out district-provided notifications to families of all students who have missed 10% or more school days and/or have had excessive tardiness. The purpose of these notifications is to ensure families are aware of the number of days missed so that they can develop a plan to improve their child’s personal attendance rate. Many families have also begun working with our attendance team at Edison to create individual Success Plans to improve their attendance. Although we realize that illness and other extenuating circumstances occasionally occur, we appreciate our partnership with our families in collectively ensuring that students are here and ready to learn each day!
Dear Parents and Families:
Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become Bolder, Prouder, and Stronger Readers. AND—as always—every book they buy earns rewards for our school.
Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place from Mon. 3/6/23 – Fri. 3/10/23 at Mark Twian’s Media Center.
This year, say goodbye to cash and hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy.
If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.
Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping:

The countdown to more Bookjoy is on! Catch you at the Fair!
Happy reading,
Mr. Tonn
Principal
