I can't remember a time when I had this much fun on Friday morning in the last decade (or maybe ever). A huge thank you goes out to our outstanding PTSO with a special shoutout to Tracey Weinstein, our jog-a-thon lead, in addition to Pali Jen, Heather Liebert, Shelbi Rodriguez, Elise Brown, and Mairead Reinhard. An event of this size is a monumental undertaking and we had so many volunteers on campus to make it a success.

Many hands, hearts, and minds from our sponsors (check out the banner acknolwedging them!), jog-a-thon committee, volunteers, parent supporters, and staff members enabled Caleb Greenwood to not only meet, but surpass our fundraising goal! While we will announce rewards for our top students in the coming week, I'm thrilled to announce that we will have DJ Lady Char playing a lunch DJ session for us next Friday, October 21, as a reward for our entire school.

In total, our Cougars ran 576 miles this morning. Absolutely incredible! We are so lucky to have such a strong community at Caleb who will go to infinity and beyond to create special events and opportunities for our scholars. I'm grateful to play a small part in it.

The Fall into IB event has been moved from Friday October 28 to Monday October 31. With this unique event, sixth graders create carnival games around the IB attributes and put on a carnival for the other grade levels during the school day. We will be asking for volunteer support to keep the event running smoothly and will allow parents (not siblings) to visit campus for this event. Save the date!

Sacramento Unified School District (SCUSD) will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week during the week of October 24-October 31, 2022. The Red Ribbon Campaign is the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation reaching millions of young people during Red Ribbon Week. The theme for SCUSD this year is “Celebrate Life: Live Drug Free”. The purpose of Red Ribbon Week is to present a visible commitment to living a safe, healthy, and drug-free life. The campaign is designed to create awareness concerning the problems related to the use of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs and to support the decision to live a drug-free lifestyle.
