Arroyo Seco Jr. High School -- August 12, 2022

Principal's Message

Hello Seco Families,

Our first week of school was very successful! Thank you for all of your support and assistance. We know this is going to be a great school year!

The online ordering link for O'Connor photos will stay open until this Sunday Aug 14th. The link will take you to all schools. Once on that page, look for the Arroyo Seco logo and you will then be able to place an order. Once the link is closed on Sunday, you will need to call the studio and order over the phone. Here is the link: Please see the price list below.

This coming Monday, August 15, we will be discussing lockdown procedures with students during the period after lunch. While we are not conducting a full drill, we will discuss appropriate actions for students to take in the event of such an emergency. We plan to conduct a classroom lockdown drill with students in November (more information will be provided as we get closer).

We appreciate your children's efforts at bringing their school ID's with them each day. This helps us scan students onto campus as quickly, safely, and efficiently as possible. They also need their ID's to get lunch, which is free, from the cafeteria.

This first week of school, teachers have shared with students schoolwide expectations for their behavior. In addition, these past two days, our Assistant Principals met with all students during their PE classes. This discussion also included instructing students not to cut through the middle of the parking lot to get to or from the buses -- they need to stay on the sidewalks on either side of the parking lot. On campus, students are expected to stay in designated areas throughout campus (inside the yellow lines) during nutrition and lunch for safety and supervision. They have been doing a great job so far.

We are off to a great start and are looking forward to an amazing year. Thank you again for all of your support and have a fantastic weekend!
