Condit Elementary Weekly Bulletin

Message from Dr. Malally
Is it really almost the middle of October? The days and weeks are just flying by, as usual. Today, I am spending the day meeting with teachers to do goal setting. Teachers will be setting goals in regards to our new ELA/ELD textbook adoption, Wonders, an individual goal for themselves, and a Team goal. As a school, we have developed goals and action steps, to achieve those goals as part of our school plan. Our goals include: increasing our English language arts proficiency from 64.0% to 66.0% of our students in grades third through sixth meeting or exceeding standards as measured by the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), increasing our math proficiency from 56.0% to 58.0% of our students in grades third through sixth meeting or exceeding standards as measured by the CAASPP, and increasing our collective 100 Mile Club miles from 47,590.25 miles to 50,000 miles.
As a staff we continue to work on the "Growth Mindset" with our students and ourselves. I have attached a link below to an article that our staff read and discussed just prior to the start of the school year. It's a good reminder about perseverance and praise.
Our next Saturday, 100 Mile Club is this Saturday, October 14th from 9:00 - 10:00 AM. We hope to see you all out there. We welcome parents and other family members to join the Club and help us reach our goal!

Updates to 100 Mile Club in 2017-2018
The last update to 100 Mile Club is the the use of "Guest" sticks this year. We LOVE to have our family members join the 100 Mile Club, and want to include your miles in our school-wide goals. For any person that is not an enrolled student at Condit, we will pass out "Guest" sticks from now on. Students will continue to collect our usual sticks stamped with Condit on them, but the "Guest" sticks will be blue. If you are a family member that plans on joining the 100 Mile Club, please make sure that you are collecting the blue sticks for each lap that you do. Outside events will be credited based on the registration forms that indicate participants name.
*Thank you for your understanding with these changes.
