SST Region 12 is offering an opportunity to participate in a professional learning session around Secondary Transition Planning. This session will focus on choosing appropriate transition assessments, pulling student preferences, interests, needs and strengths from those assessments, and designing transition goals and activities based on the needs of the student.
Fall Special Education Legal Update Training
Derek L. Towster, Esq. from Scott Driven LLP will provide administrators with federal and state legal updates, prepare participants for legal challenges, and provide guidance to support responsibilities around IEPs, procedural safeguards, and more.

First-year gifted service providers (general educators and AP instructors), attend this learning session to:
- Examine characteristics of students who are gifted.
- Review and know your district’s processes to identify students who are gifted.
- Explore resources and frameworks that support higher level thinking and complexity.
- Learn the components and how to develop Gifted Written Education Plans.

Give your students who are gifted opportunities to interact with other students who are gifted! Grade 5 students will be presented with challenges and will have opportunities to use problem-solving and deductive reasoning skills through the following activities:

Join the MVESC Curriculum Council Network to:
- Learn from others and generate ideas!
- Hear how others are approaching best practices, state requirements, and common educational topics.

- Energize your leadership and learning skills through collaborative conversations, shared learning experiences, and brainstorming!

Join this collaborative of principals to discuss, share, and reflect on current educational practices. Each session includes a speaker, a superintendent panel, a program highlight or tour, lunch, and an open forum.
Octobers session will be held at Maysville Local Schools in room 104 of the administration center with Dr. Barb Hansen presenting the topic of Invitational Education.

October 25 and 26 - 8am PAX Partner Training
PAX Partner Training provides participants who have already been trained in PAX GBG with the skills to support PAX teachers and improve implementations at the school and classroom level over two successive days. This includes one day of web-based training and two days of live on-site training. Topics include: Partnering the Kernels, Cues, and PAX Game, Collaborating with teachers and administrators, Collecting and utilizing data, Troubleshooting implementations, and Embedding PAX GBG throughout schools and communities.

Spider Insider - Interactive Student Session
Come one, come all, if you dare. Spiders, spiders, EVERYWHERE! This interactive lesson is perfect for fall holiday integration. PreK-K students will enjoy music, literature, and science all wrapped into one fun and interactive lesson. Spider Insider includes activities that practice letter recognition, rhyming words, sorting /classifying, and fine motor skills. Don’t miss the opportunity to explore these creepy crawlers with a bad reputation! Please see specific dates and times to register your classroom.
Cost is $120.00 per connecting site. Fee includes individually packaged kits for your students that are mailed to your classroom. There is a 30-student maximum per site. Overage fees and additional kit fees will apply to schools that go over the session maximum. Additional kits can be purchased for $1.00 per kit + shipping fees.
