Butterfly School News - AUGUST 2020

Riverside Butterfly School is looking forward to beginning our 2020-21 school year! Our start date is Tuesday, September 22.

During our extensive planning for safely opening Butterfly School due to COVID-19, the wellbeing of our children, teachers and families have been paramount in the plans and protocols we have put in place.

Riverside Butterfly School is currently under the restrictions of the Emergency Guidelines for Child Care Centers set in place by the State of Texas. We are also required to follow all guidelines set by the CDC, Dallas County, Child Care Regulation, and The Riverside Church.

There are new procedures to help assure the health, and safety of our students and staff. For our families currently preregistered. The Coppell Area Christian Preschools Health and Safety Plan and COVID-19 Response Plan and the RBS Addendum #1 have already been emailed to parents along with the registration confirmation survey.

These documents are attached to this newsletter and can also be found on the Riverside Butterfly School website. (Link is located at the bottom of this newsletter.)

As long a COVID-19 poses a health and safety problem, these extra adjustments to our procedures will need to remain in place.

Again, on behalf of the staff and teachers at Riverside Butterfly School, we thank each of you for your gracious support during this unpresented time. Thank you for hanging in there with us!

God bless each of you and keep you safe.

NOTICE! NO AFTER SCHOOL CARE - for now

Due to the current health and safety restrictions and protocols now in place due to COVID19, Butterfly School CANNOT offer after school care. When these restrictions are lifted, we will re-engage our after school program which is a wonderful aid to our families.

PARENTS-SOMETHING TO CONSDISER...

In just a short time, the public schools will begin their new school year. Parents must ask, will public school classes be virtual or in person, who really knows? With potentially high numbers of students attending in person classes daily, will the public schools be able to effectively keep the building, door knobs, bathrooms, computers, desks, chairs, etc. disinfected and COVID-clean? Will public school in person classes be small, (ten children or less), or will class sizes be 22 to 30 students as is typical for PreK program classrooms.

If you believe a small, safe, and well managed learning environment would benefit your child, Riverside Butterfly School is offering “four-day”, (Tuesday-Friday) four-year-old preK classes and we currently still have a small number of new student spots available.

Butterfly School limits our class sizes to 10 students maximum. Please review the COVID-19 health and safety protocols we now have in place at RBS that are located on our website. While no organization can guarantee a COVID19 free environment, our small classes and our daily diligent cleaning schedule, will contribute to your child being engaged with a smaller circle of daily contacts thus reducing the risk of your child coming in contact with COVID-19.

As space in our four-day preK class is limited, new student enrollment will be on a first-come, first-served basis. If you believe your child would benefit by being in a smaller, healthier, well managed, learning environment, let me know without delay so we can assure a spot for your child when school begins on September 22.

Just Giving You...

One of our great ones has passed, Mr Pete Montgomery

Big picture
Pete Montgomery gained his heavenly reward on Friday, July 24th. This precious man was the hands and feet of Jesus every day here on earth. He battled a long cancer diagnosis which ultimately took his life. He is now finally Home. Pete's love of the Lord was evident everyday. I can only imagine his glorious welcome of, well done thy good and faithful servant! Heaven rejoices but for now my heart is broken- I will miss him.
