9.4.23 Badger News

Dear Builta Families,

We hope that everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend. Please remember that there is no school on Tuesday, September 5 due to a staff School Improvement Day. We look forward to seeing Builta Badgers back at school on Wednesday, September 5.

Name Cards: Last week, we sent home name cards with all students. Please use the name card to post in your window during Car Line Pick Up. This will help us identify your vehicle and help get your child to you in a more efficient manner.

Last Week at Builta:

We welcomed parents to Curriculum Night. We enjoyed spending time with you as we discussed what students will learn and do this school year.
We had our first full week of school. Students are forming and developing relationships with their classmates and their teachers through classroom meetings and team building activities.
Classroom teachers led classroom lessons on Stop, Walk and Talk to help give students the skills to advocate for themselves during a problem or issue with another classmate.
Mrs. Sally led our Positive Behavioral Intervention (PBIS) assembly. During the assembly students celebrated the start of the year and reviewed and discussed the Badger Keys to Respect. (Respect for Yourself, Others and Property)
Dr. Talley, IPSD Superintendent, helped out at car line and visited classrooms.

This Week at Builta

We continue to practice our safety drills. This week, we are holding our first practice fire drill and practice lockdown drill. Please let me know if you do not want your child to practice the lockdown drill with their classroom.

Team Builta Running for Builta School and the IPEF

On October 22, Builta is happy to have the following student, parents and staff members participate in the Naperville 5K/Half Marathon: Aleena Arain (Student), Mr. Arain (Parent), Mrs. Johnston (Teacher) , Mrs. Arun Kumar (Parent) and Mrs. Pagano (Staff Member) to raise funds for Builta School and the Indian Prairie Education Foundation (IPEF).

We have several ways for Builta students and families to help support the fundraising efforts of the Builta runners.

9/18, 9/19, 9/22: Bubble Gum Sale for Team Builta Runners

9/27: Family Picnic Day to Support Team Builta Runners

10/5: Oberweis Fundraiser (Get a treat at Oberweis in Bolingbrook. Mention Builta School and 20% of your purchase will go to Team Builta Runners.)


9/14 Picture Day Volunteers Builta is looking for a few parents who are able to volunteer and help classes during picture day on September 14 from 9:05-12:15. If you are interested in volunteering during Picture Day, please sign up at the link below. 9.14 Picture Day Volunteer Sign Up		Car Line Reminders Please remember for student and parent safety: There is no parking on Apple Valley Road during arrival and dismissal times. There are no left turns onto Apple Valley when exiting the car line circle.
