Ms. Harris' Weekly Update
November 27th-December 1st
What's Going On This Week:
Ms. Harris' Science: This week we will be reviewing Lessons 1-4 on Plant and Animal life cycles/classification. Students will take a quiz on Lessons 1-4 on Thursday. On Friday, we will start Lesson 5 on Animal Senses.
Ms. Harris' Social Studies: This week we will be reviewing the 13 Colonies. Students will take a unit test on Wednesday. We will then start our next unit on the Causes of the American Revolution, by first learning about the French and Indian War.
Mrs. Thurston's Math/ELA:This week we are continuing our new non-fiction unit, Reading the Weather, Reading the World. Please encourage your child to pick up more non-fiction texts.

Spelling tests will be given each day of the week. Each group has its own day. They all know what day they test on! In math this week we will start Fractions.
Discovery Place Field Trip Permission Slips and Money due Monday 4th
Permission Slips and $19 are due by Monday 4th.

Spirit Day is Friday!
Students are encouraged to come decked out in their FMES and blue/yellow gear on Friday. The school store will also be open.
Carolina Raptor Center is Coming in January
$5 is due by December 15th
This event will be at FMES. They will bring different raptors here for students to see and talk about animal adaptations.

Other Information/Dates:
- FMES Angel Tree program has begun! If you are interested, in sponsoring a child this holiday season, please let Mr. Finch in the front office know. All gifts are due by December 15th.
- The Jazzy Jackets will perform at the FM Christmas tree lighting at 7:00 on Thursday.
- The Jazzy Jackets will perform for parents on December 7th at 6:30 pm. All are invited to attend!
- The Holiday Lunch is December 15th. Our modified lunch time is 10:30-11:00. Parents are welcome to come and enjoy a holiday lunch with us in the cafeteria.
- Expert Exhibit (GT) is December 15th from 1:00-1:30 pm. Parents are welcome to come to my or Ms. Carroll's classroom to see the students "come alive" as their famous experts.
- Holiday Parties: GT Tacky Sweater Party Tuesday December 19th 12-1:30/Homeroom Holiday Party Wednesday 12-1:30 (MORE INFORMATION TO COME NEXT WEEK)
