Principal's Message
Good afternoon Canby High School Students and Families!
This past week has been one of success for Canby Athletics. Our baseball team finished third in the Northwest Oregon Conference and made a first round playoff appearance, losing to Ashland 2-1. Our softball team finished second in league and upset Ridgeview in the first round. They play at Lebanon at 5:00 on Friday.
Our Women’s rugby team finished 3rd overall. Blake Campf, Tyler Olson, Gracie English, and Gracie Carter represented Men’s and Women’s Golf in their respective state tournaments. Men’s Lacrosse lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs after a successful season, and our track and field team is sending a bunch of athletes to the state championships this weekend. Please see below for more details.
Our Jazz Band continued its winning ways taking 4th last weekend at the Oregon Music Education Association State Jazz Championships. They will make another appearance at the Rose Festival Starlight Parade. There is another chance to catch our state championship choir as well tonight at their spring concert.
The end of the school year is fast approaching. I hope that our students enjoy all of the spring activities and finish strong with their academics as well. It is a great time to practice study habits that will serve them well this school year and beyond.
Have a wonderful week!
Best,
Cari Sloan

Graduation All Night Party
Please help us celebrate the Canby High School Class of 2023 by signing up to volunteer at the Senior "GAP" All NIght Party on Friday, June 9th. We need as many volunteers as possible to make this an amazing event for our graduates. Senior parents are more than welcome to sign up to help, but we also need parents who do not have seniors. Think of volunteering at this event as paying it forward. Volunteering gives the senior parents a chance to attend graduation, and visit with family and friends who might be visiting for graduation. Then when it's you students turn to graduate, other parents will do the same for you.
When signing up, please make sure that you add an email and a phone number. I will be sending out reminders as we get closer to the event. The location will not be disclosed until a couple of hours before the event, because we want to surprise the student, but know that it is within a half an hour drive.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email Amber Bedortha at canbyamber@yahoo.com.

Attendance at CHS
To ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our attendance process, please remember the following guidelines:
If your student needs to leave class for an appointment or because they are sick, inform the attendance office 30 MINUTES PRIOR to leave time. This will help us ensure that your student receives a note to leave class in a timely manner. Students will not be excused without a note.
Pre-Excused Absence: For any anticipated absence that will be more than three days, students are expected to pick up a Pre-Excused Absence Form from Jessie Munoz at the Attendance Office.
To report an absence, call Jessie Munoz at our attendance line at 503-263-7210 or email chs-attendance@canby.k12.or.us.
Students have 48 hours to have unexcused absences excused. Students may lose the opportunity to make up work for credit due to unexcused absences. Please report an absence as soon as possible.
Remember that attendance matters and students who attend class regularly are more likely to stay on track, graduate on time, learn deeply, and get the most from their high school experience.
