Family - Comfort Food for your Soul!
Twin Oaks Families:
"Families are the compass that guides us. They are the inspiration to reach great heights, and our comfort when we occasionally falter." ~ Brad Henry
No matter how or where you enjoyed your spring break, it's very likely that some of your time was spent with family. I had the pleasure of traveling to sunny California for a few days, where I enjoyed the company of daughter Ali, her husband Ryan and my sweet "grand-dogter" Macy. Immersing myself in the day-to-day rhythm of their lives reminded me that my family connections are essential to my identity, my comfort and my joy.
Of course, families come in many forms. Some people consider their closest friends their chosen family. Others have a work family or a neighborhood family. Family is like comfort food for your soul! However you define your family, take stalk in their value. Remember to nurture and tend to those you love. The rewards you receive in return will be ten-fold.
What's happening in School this week:
Now that we are finished with the Child Protection Unit, counseling lessons in the coming weeks will focus on Health and Wellness. As a member of the team that will be recommending a new health curriculum to School District 4J, I will pilot some lessons from one of the health programs called The Great Body Shop. Spring seems like the perfect time to focus our lessons on nutrition, exercise and social/emotional health!
***(PLEASE NOTE April and May DATES HAVE CHANGED)***

COUNSELING ROOM MASK POLICY: My room has two excellent air purifiers, and I try to keep the area very safe for all who enter. For students who wear masks, I will continue to wear a mask when meeting individually with them in the Counseling Office.
