BTES Staff Updates
September 16, 2019
Thanks for a great week. Back to School Night was a big success and I heard nothing but compliments and excitement from parents as they spoke to me about their child's teacher. They were smiling as they entered the building and more importantly they smiled on their way out. Great start.
Constitution Week - Please Hand Out Booklets
Constitution Day September 17th is an American federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens. It is normally observed on September 17, the day in 1787 that delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the document in Philadelphia.
Diagnostic & Placement Test Math Begins this week. These tests must be given on Linkit only, no paper copies. I am under the impression that the tests will be uploaded in Linkit this week.

eHallpass appears to be working effectively. We will continue to adjust certain items as we learn more about it. This week please start to use the proxy pass for sending students to the nurse. This will eventually take the place of the nurses notes that you fill out prior to sending the students to Ms. Cofone's room.
eHallPass Survey - I need everyone to answer.
This is only a one question survey. Please fill this out by the end of the day on Monday.
This year we have scheduled trips for fifth and sixth grade that connect to the social studies curriculum. Sixth grade will be going to Double Trouble State Park this month and fifth grade will be going to Monmouth Battle Field in early Spring.
Please be mindful of all allergies within your classroom. During snack time please do your best to make sure that students do not have any products that contain peanuts/tree nuts or are manufactured in factories where peanuts/tree nuts are used. The following link can assist. http://snacksafely.com/safe-snack-guide/
This week most of the staff will be reviewing NJSLA scores with Bari Erlichson. It is important that you are able to get onto Linkit to review your students assessments. Dr. Zito shared directions on how to log on to Linkit via Google Classroom this week. If you are still unsure prior to our Wednesday workshop please see Kevin or I and we can assist.
Week in Review
- Breakfast is running smoothly. Just a side note, we are at double our breakfast numbers compared to last year. We are averaging near 100 students daily.
- Thanks for spreading out during recess. Please have someone stand by the wall ball court so that they can see both sides of the court.
- Practice drills have been going well. We have a couple more this week and then we will be right where we need to be.
PTA Crazy Sock Day - Coming Soon
We have a crazy sock day coming up soon and the PTA is sponsoring this fundraiser. Friday will be the last day to order. Thanks.
