Are you Zoning out on Zoom?

It should come at no surprise that Zooming, as well as any prolonged internet usage, can be taxing on the brain, eyes, and nervous system. The phenomenon many of us have been experiencing has been termed "Zoom Fatigue." Sound familiar?

So how can we continue to use the platform that has graciously kept us connected during our time apart, while still caring for ourselves?

Dr. Chris Willard, psychotherapist, and Harvard Medical School professor, has offered that a 20-20-20 habit may help to combat Zoom weary minds.

The practice is simple: Every 20 minutes, look away from the screen for 20 seconds, preferably 20 feet away. Ideally, this would be out a window for the added benefit of natural light.

Give this a try next time you find yourself zoning out on Zoom!

Thank you for caring for your SELf!
