Student Book Store Project!
Dear families,
We are opening a book store February 25-March 1 from 7:50am to 8:10am in the front of the school.
All proceeds of this book store will go to support a family with a different economy.
Book prices will range from $.50 to $2.00.
Sincerely,
Monroe, Leo, Libby, and Amiyah (advertising group from Mrs. Grant´s and Mrs. Burke’s class).
Extravaganza Time!
Friday March 1 is our big family event and a fundraiser to fund school projects such as teacher grants for classroom materials, shark dissection, free enrichment clubs for all students, and more. We need volunteers, including 3rd and 4th graders to work at the very fun Student Run Concession Booth. These jobs are fun and easy.

Date: Monday, March 4, 2019
Time: 8:00 - 9:00 AM
Location: Eagle Elementary, Design Lab
Calling all 4th-grade parents of incoming 5th graders! Please join us in the Eagle Elementary Design Lab on Monday, March 4, 2019 for a casual "coffee talk" with the principal of Zionsville West Middle School, Mr. Matt Doublestein. There will be more comprehensive and structured opportunities to hear similar information at ZWMS later in March, but this is a chance to meet Mr. Doublestein in a more casual and intimate setting to begin learning what middle school will be like for your child. This optional meeting will begin at 8:00 am with a brief introduction. The remainder of the agenda will then be guided by your questions and will last for approximately one hour. Coffee, tea, and light snacks will be provided. Regretfully we cannot provide childcare, however, please do feel to bring your little ones with you. Thank you!
Growth in ZCS with Dr. Scott Robison
Dear Eagle Elementary Parents—
The important topic of redistricting is always part of enrollment growth discussions. Please join us at Eagle Elementary on March 27 to discuss our facilities needs as a result of continuing enrollment growth. We will meet from 6:30-8:00 PM in the cafeteria.
Please register to attend at:https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Eagle2019(Free child care will be provided, but you must register for that, too!) I need parents to be aware of the facilities needs, redistricting implications, and funding information related to our enrollment growth in ZCS.
Thank you for your consideration of this important community forum in the life of ZCS.
Sincerely,
Scott Robison, Superintendent

Buddy Up Fun Night
It’s time for the 12th annual ZCHS Best Buddies Buddy Up Fun Night. The Best Buddies Club encourages friendship between general and special education students. In the past, individuals with intellectual disabilities have not had the opportunity to have friends outside their own classroom. ZCHS recognizes the importance of INCLUSION. Open to all 1st-4th grade elementary students without intellectual disabilities and 5th-8th grade students with an intellectual disability. This fee covers pizza, beverages, snacks, lifeguards, pool rental, and t-shirt (if registered by 3/5). All proceeds from Buddy Up Fun Night go to the ZCHS Best Buddies Club.

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR VOLUNTEERS
We value partnerships with our families and welcome parents and guardians to serve as volunteers in our schools. Each ZCS building offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities.
Examples include:
Field Trip Chaperones
Out of Town/Overnight Chaperones
Tutors
Volunteer Coaches
Classroom Helpers (PTO parties/room parents)

During the school day, all volunteers are expected to sign in at the front office. Prior to the volunteer opportunity, all volunteers must sign a Non-disclosure Acknowledgement Form and have successfully completed a Full Criminal History Background Check. Necessary background check paperwork is available on the ZCS website at the Volunteers/BRAVO link and should be submitted at least 10 days prior to the intended volunteer date. Volunteers must also view the state mandated confidentiality/bullying video, provided on the Volunteer/BRAVO website. The volunteer will pay the fee* for the full background check which will expire after 5 years. The link to apply for the full background check can be accessed on the Volunteers/BRAVO link on the ZCS main webpage. For more information, contact the Volunteer/BRAVO Coordinator.
CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR VISITORS
During the school day, all visitors must enter via the front door and sign-in at the front office. Visitors need to be prepared to present a government issued photo ID which will be scanned against the National Sex Offender Registry. All visitors will be issued a visitor badge/tag to be worn inside the building at all times.
Examples Include:

Classroom Special Events (Grandparent Day/Famous Hoosiers/etc.)
Parent/Teacher Conferences
We ask that all visitors schedule an appointment to meet with teachers, counselors, administrators and all other staff members so that we may best serve everyone. Visitors other than parents/guardians must be prearranged and organized through the main office.
*ZCS thanks all volunteers for generous support of our youth and schools. Thank you, too, for supporting assurance of student and staff safety by completing and paying for a volunteer background check.
