Mission Statement

St. Joseph Catholic School fosters a diverse community of disciples empowered through a rigorous and inclusive Catholic education rooted in Gospel values and service to others.

Mass reflections

Father Gordon was talking about when he was in seminary. One of his classmates always complained about everything. This related to the Jewish people complaining about a lot of things everyday. Jesus made a choice to suffer for us by going on the Cross and dying for our sins. The Cross can be seen as something positive in life since it is a sign that Jesus Christ died for our sins and shows that He is our savior. - Fritz, 6th Grade

When God was giving the Israelites bread and shelter, they started to complain. Then God punished them with poisonous serpents. The Israelites told Moses to speak to God and so he did. God told Moses to build a bronze serpent and put it on a large stick the people can see and whoever has gotten bit by the serpent will live. What the Gospel was trying to tell us is we must be thankful for everything we have and not complain. - Audrey, 6th Grade

free flu shots - optional

St. Joseph Catholic School is proud to partner with Health Hero to offer families the opportunity to have their child receive a FREE FLU SHOT on campus on Friday, October 7th. This is completely optional. Permission forms were sent home with your child today. If you are interested, please complete the form and return it to school by Friday, September 23rd.

From Health Hero:

In partnership with St. Joseph Catholic School, it is our pleasure to offer on-site flu vaccinations at your student’s school. Flu clinics will be offered at each school location during school hours. Health Hero Florida flu vaccination clinics are completely voluntary and are offered to ALL consented students, regardless of their insurance coverage.

Why get a flu vaccine?

The best way to minimize or avoid the spread of flu is to get an annual flu vaccination. Each year the vaccine protects against new strains, therefore, the vaccine should be administered annually.

Who is Health Hero Florida?

Health Hero is a school-based mass vaccinator with the sole focus on delivering safe, efficient vaccination programs in schools to raise immunization rates and lower student absenteeism. Our mission is to make immunizations available to every student, helping to stop diseases like the flu A and B in their tracks.

What type vaccines will be given?

IIV-4 injections will be available to all consented children who do not have any contra-indicators. All vaccines given are preservative-free, mercury-free, Thimerosal-free and administered by state-licensed nurses.

What do you need to do to participate?

If you wish for your child to participate, please COMPLETELY fill out and sign a consent form. These forms need to be returned to your child’s school by Friday 9/23/22 to secure a dose for your child.

For further information you can also visit our website at www.beahealthhero.com. We hope to see your child in clinic!

school store

The SJCS School Store is open on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:30am until 8am in the entryway of the school. Students are invited to stop by the School Store on their way to class to make purchases.

Attendance Policy Reminder

Please remember that all parents have signed acknowledgment of the SJCS Attendance Policy in place for the current school year. As a reminder, your child's full day attendance is critical as we strive to provide the best for your child. We recognize that children will be sick and need to miss school from time to time. Please be sure you are always calling the office, as outlined as an expectation in the policy, notifying us of the reason for the absence. When parents do not give a reason on the day of the absence, it is considered unexcused should the child meet the 15 day absence threshold. Thank you for your adherence to this policy.

2pm Dismissal

SJCS will dismiss at 2pm next Thursday, September 22nd for Teacher Professional Development. Aftercare will be provided until 6pm.

St. Joseph Prayer

O Blessed Joseph, faithful guardian of my Redeemer, Jesus Christ, protector of Mary, the virgin Mother of God, I choose you this day to be my special patron and advocate and I firmly resolve to honor you all the days of my life. Therefore, I humbly ask you to receive me as your client, to instruct me in every doubt, to comfort me in every affliction, to obtain for me and for all the knowledge and love of the Heart of Jesus, and finally to defend and protect me at the hour of my death. Amen.
