Guided reading books

We are so excited to have started reading groups during our morning lesson time. Your child will be bringing home 1-2 books to read nightly. This is also a great time to work on sight words. Please make sure that your child returns their books each day. This way they have their book to read at reading group time. If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher.

Focus this week

ELAR -This week we will generate ideas for writing through class discussions and drawings,

develop handwriting by accurately forming all upper and lowercase letters using appropriate directionality, identify and match the common sounds that letters represent.

Math-This week will be 2D shapes. Circle, triangle, rectangle and square (a special type of rectangle). We will identify the attributes of 2D shapes. We will sort regular and irregular shapes.

Science - We will review our 5 senses and discover how heat can change matter as we make applesauce this week. Thanks so much for providing apples for our experiment.

Social Studies- We will continue to learn what it means to be a good citizen in our community, home and school.
