Pounamu Newsletter
Week 8 Term 4 2022
Kia ora e te whānau,
We have enjoyed having some beautiful weather this week. Our trip to the gully was a lot of fun and we had a great day hut building, golfing and having a treasure hunt today.
On Monday is our trip to Battle Hill. We are leaving at 9.30 and the bus is leaving Battle Hill again at 2pm.
We have lots of helpers now thank you and the children are looking forward to feeding the eels and exploring.
I will put a list of what they need in this newsletter.
Friday the 9th is supposed to be wheels day. The forecast says rain but it may hold off until the afternoon so at this stage it is still on. Remember helmets are essential.
Ngā mihi,
Pounamu Teachers.
Wednesday - Market Day
Battle Hill - What the children need to bring!
Hats, togs if they want to swim in the stream, a towel, lunch and a drink bottle. A change of clothes is also good for those who tend to get wet!
We will be looking at the animals, going on a short nature walk, swinging on the giant tree swing, feeding the eels (carefully!) and having a swim/splash in the stream.
The woolshed will be open if we need it too.
I will check the weather forecast on Sunday and advise if it is going ahead or not on Sunday night.
Year 4 - 2023
We are finalising which teachers will be working with this group. The year 4s are to be based in Rooms 4 & 5. They will be working collaboratively together, separately most of the time from the y2/3s. We are looking forward to it being an exciting and challenging year for them.
Hats - Ngā Pōtae/Sunscreen
IF YOU HAVE ANY SPARE WIDE BRIM HATS AT HOME WE WOULD LOVE SOME MORE AT SCHOOL.
If you have a child that needs sunscreen we appreciate it if you could put this on in the morning. We have some spare sunscreen for top ups if needed too.
No Nuts!!
We appreciate your co-operation.
