From working in the music industry to producing for national television networks, Tracey Baker-Simmons has been making an impact for over two decades. Come learn about how she got started, building a strong partnership, and longevity in the industry.
BIO:
Tracey is a 20-year production veteran in film and television. Her journey into the entertainment industry began at Warner Brother s Music in the marketing and promotions department, which eventually spurred her interest in film production.
Baker-Simmons produced national commercials and hundreds of Music Videos for LeRoux Pictures and Westside Stories in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2002 she produced the independent feature film The Book of Love, starring Sallie Richardson, Robin Givens, Treach of Naughty by Nature and Richard T. Jones of Judging Amy. In 2005, Tracey created the pop culture phenomenon-Bravo reality series Being Bobby Brown, starring controversial music legends Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston.
Then in 2010, in a joint partnership with Rainforest Films, Baker-Simmons and her partner Wanda Shelley executive produced MTV2’s Sprite Step-Off, which debuted to record breaking ratings for the network. In the same year, Baker -Simmons received an Emmy™ nomination from Southeast Region – National Academy of Arts and Sciences for Platinum House, a show that she created and executive produced with R&B legend Keith Sweat.
