SCHOLAR HIGHLIGHT - JAZMINE HUERTA

Big picture

Jazmine Huerta is an 8th grade scholar at Rancho Minerva Middle School. She recently moved from San Marcos to Vista, and she's enjoying her life as a Bull. One of Jazmine's classes is Career and Technical Education, or CTE. She loves learning photography because she, "really loves to express herself through photography. I also enjoy exploring different techniques for editing and shooting pictures. It's fun!" Her work includes her shadow photography, professional headshot, and her low-angle trees. Jazz is an outstanding student, and always puts in 100% to her assignments.

Jazmine wants to continue photography in high school, but will also pursue dance. She started dancing when she was three-years-old, and it is one of her favorite things to do. What is her advice for her fellow scholars? "My suggestion is to always try your best, and to always believe in yourself, no matter what anyone says." Her favorite food is guava, and she loves anything about the Avengers.

Here are some important reminders...

You WILL be receiving grades. Yes, grades - A, B, C, etc. Your work is going to be graded. You will receive a report card. Take school seriously. This is very different than what we did in the Spring. There is no Pass/Fail. We expect you to complete your work and do your best every day!

On Zoom or Google Meet, you are expected to use your FIRST AND LAST NAME. This is how we take attendance. You are not permitted to change your name. If you chose to change your name, you may get marked absent because we won't let you into our virtual classroom. Do the right thing... use YOUR name!

If you are having challenges getting into your live classes, please email your teacher directly. They will be able to help you get to your classwork.

Meet Ms. Ruth, Your PASS Mentor

Hello RMMS! My name is Miss Ruth, and I am the new PASS mentor! For those of you who don’t know what a PASS mentor does, I generally help scholars be the best RMMS students they can be by providing homework help, encouraging attendance, checking in with students to see how distance learning has been going. I hope to be able to meet you all in person soon!
