January 2021
Principal's Post *EARLY DISMISSAL TODAY - 2:00pm*
We are officially at the half-way point in the school year as of January 15. We have a 1 Hour Early Dismissal (2:00pm) this Friday, January 15. There will be no school on Monday, January 18th (Martin Luther King Day). We begin our second semester on Tuesday, January 19. Students will be bringing home their report card on Monday, January 25. Please be sure to review your child’s report card and have a conversation with your child about his/her academic progress to date. You may keep the report card, but please sign and return the report card envelope.
We are continuing our year filled with success through hard work and dedication by providing students with daily opportunities to grow academically, emotionally and socially. Together, home and school can make an effective team working toward the academic success of our children. Thank you for all you do to support our Parkwood teachers and the effort you put in from home. It makes a difference!
As we start the second semester, please reach out to your students’ teachers or our office if you have concerns or need assistance. We value each of you and want to make sure we are supporting our student's educational, social and emotional growth. May 2021 bring you much happiness, good health, and treasured memories.
Sincerely,
Sue Bamford

In January, Parkwood staff and students will continue our annual Penny Challenge. This year’s challenge will help us to further our district character education initiative, Creek United. All proceeds will be donated to Feed the Creek in support of their work supporting the nutritional needs of our community, particularly during this challenging time. Feed the Creek supports students and families at Parkwood through our district wide Backpack Buddies Program. They also provided holiday assistance to some of our families in need. More information will come home soon regarding dates for the Penny Challenge!
The month of January will also focus on the character pillar Responsibility. At Parkwood, being responsible includes doing your best work, coming to school ready to learn, speaking kindly and respectfully to others and being accountable for our actions.
Yearbook orders will be online only this year. ybpay.lifetouch.com
Our deadline to order a yearbook is March 5, 2021. Parkwood's ID Code is: 5785221.
