Linwood Elementary Newsletter
June 2022
Principal's Message
Linwood Families and Community,
As we move towards the end of the 2021-2022 school year, I am reflective on the growing and learning our students have done this year. We have seen growth in their academic areas such as reading and math and have also seen them continue their journey on learning more ways to be kind humans. Each month we have focused on a character trait that is important for 21st century citizens.
Next school year we will have a focus on attendance; your children learn the most when they are on time and at school every day. We love having your children here and the best learning is done when we are here together.
We have several events coming up in the next few days that students are looking forward to: PTO carnival (tomorrow night), field day, and memory book signing are all events that students remember for years to come. We look forward to seeing you at the carnival!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Gessele
Principal

Girls on the Run
Congratulations to Linwood's Girls on the Run participants! Girls on the Run is an organization that focuses on empowering girls to be physically active while developing and strengthening important life skills. For the last six weeks, 54 amazing Linwood students from grades 3-6 showed up to stretch, train, talk, learn, and grow together as a community. They participated in lessons that proved how truly limitless they are, and they worked together to impact their community in positive ways. The girls encouraged one another and learned how to show love to others and, most importantly, to ourselves.
On Wednesday, May 25th these students completed a 5K at Linwood with grit, determination, and smiles. Congratulations to all participants, and thank you for teaching us so much this season!
