May 28, 2019 Update
It's hard to believe that the final countdown has begun! We have 12 exciting, fun filled days remaining!
Our Annual Field Day is scheduled for Friday, May 31st! A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Woodard, Physical Education Teacher for all of her hard work in organizing this special day for our school. Please note that all students will be given a popsicle. The health office is aware of food allergies and those families will be contacted directly.
2019-2020 Class Placement
Over the last month, staff has made every effort to create balanced classrooms that represent a range of styles, abilities, and interests so as to achieve an optimal learning environment for all students.
The process of placing students appropriately is a complex one that involves a great deal of thought and effort on the part of the staff. Classroom teachers, special educators, school counselors, special subject teachers, administrators, and other staff members all take part in ensuring classes are well-balanced, dynamic learning communities. Classes have been carefully crafted to place students with appropriate learning peers and a well-matched teacher. We take great pride in making sure this process is completed with care, and, at the same time, that it takes into account the interests of each individual child.
Factors considered include social relationship with peers as well as academic and emotional needs. While individual needs are given a high priority, they need to be considered in the context of the group. The consensus of our educators is that the dynamic of the total group is the most critical determinant of a successful classroom experience. It is important to recognize that individual needs are better met in classrooms that “work” as a whole.
Each year brings forward several exciting changes. In the 2019-2020 school year, we are thrilled to offer full day kindergarten for all students. Additionally, we have moved grade 3 back to a self-contained model (1 classroom teacher). Grades 4 & 5 will remain a departmentalized model (2 classrooms teachers - ELA/Social Studies & Math/Science).
Students will have the opportunity to meet next year's teacher(s) on our last day of school - Wednesday, June 12th.
Grade 2 Spring Concert - Thursday, May 30th @ 10:00 a.m.
Please join us for a musical celebration! 2nd Grade has been working hard to prepare a special performance for their friends and family! Come watch them sing about friendship, kindness, and showing their STRIPES!
If students would like to dress-up or wear a favorite outfit for their performance, that’s great! However, please know that no specific concert attire is necessary.
We hope you can come and enjoy 2nd Grade’s performance and celebrate their hard work!
Thank you!

Grade 5 Families
It's hard to believe that we quickly approaching the end of the school year! Below is a link for the 5th Grade Moving on Ceremony and our scheduled visit to TMS. Please complete this form as soon as possible. Also, you will find an attachment regarding our 5th Grade Fun Day!
We have lots of exciting end of the year activities to look forward to.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact the main office.
Come to TMS on June 3rd at 6:00 to hear all about what is in store for your children next year when they enter the middle school. You will get to chance to meet teachers, hear what our current sixth graders thought about the transition, talk with Mr. Pollet and Mr. Hook, and take a tour. There will also be a presentation from the staff of Camp Bournedale at the end of the tour. We hope you can make it!
Host an international student!
We are looking for loving host families to host students that will be coming from Spain (a male-10th grade and a female 11th grade) to attend Tyngsborough High School for the 2019-20 school year. Each student comes with their own spending money and health insurance. We ask the host family to provide a bedroom/place to study and three meals per day. Any meals eaten outside the home are covered by the student. There is a local person in the community that supports the student and the host family. It is a wonderful way to bring a great cultural exchange within your own family. Please contact Cheryl Da Silva, PSE Regional Manager for Massachusetts for more information. cdasilva@pse-edu.org or 617 710 5700
