Surprise Guest - Sam Kerr

Yesterday morning we were lucky enough to have Matilda’s captain Sam Kerr come and visit our school. Sam who is on a break here in Perth before preparing for the World Cup was kind enough to answer some questions from our students and have a photo with the whole school.

It was a very exciting morning for everyone involved and I thank our SRC for leading us.

I would also like to thank Sam for spending some time with us and I wish her the best of luck in the upcoming World Cup!

Ninja Playground

I have received some exciting news regarding the Ninja Playground project on the Annexe Oval. It has been approved by both CEWA and the City of Canning and construction will begin on October 23!

This is an exciting project for our school and the students will get great benefit out of using the playground.

I would like to thank the P&F, who are funding the playground, for their hard work in ensuring this project got off the ground. Thanks also to the School Advisory Council for their guidance and work behind the scenes to ensure everything was in place.

Exciting times!

Library Work

In the school holidays work will take place in the back of the library to construct a staff work room and separate tutor room. This will give our staff a great space to prepare lessons and create resources ready for classroom use.

It is another exciting project that will benefit both staff and students at our school. I look forward to seeing the finished work on my return from leave!

Reports

On Wednesday 28th June the student reports will be made available online to families through SEQTA. These reports contain specific information relating to each individual student’s achievement at this point in time.

I encourage you to spend time with your child/children, going through their report, to celebrate the successes and work to be done to achieve even better results.

The teachers here at Queen of Apostles have spent a great deal of time gathering data and writing individualised comments so you have an accurate picture of where each student is at. I would like to thank them for their time and commitment to this task.

Edu-Dance Concert

Our Edu-Dance Concert will be held on Wednesday 28 June 2023 in our Parish Hall. There will be two concerts:

2.15 - 2.35. PP, 2, 4, 6

2.40 - 3.00. Yrs 1, 3, 5 and 6

The Parish Hall is only licensed for around 300 persons (230 of these will be students and staff). For this reason, we have had to split the program into two sittings (see above). To allow all parents and their guests to view their child's performance, we ask that parents/guests only attend their children's session (Year 6 parents can choose either session).

The Hall will be opened at 2.00pm.

We look forward to some great performances on the day.
