DMS Delivers
October 27, 2023
Dear DMS Families,
As we move into next week, we know that students are excitedly anticipating Halloween. With that, we are asking families to be vigilant of what students are packing in their lunches following Halloween, as we do not want an excess amount of candy to be distributed at school/lunch resulting in students feeling lethargic or ill over the course of the school day. Also, as is typical of past years, students will be allowed to show their spirit at DMS on Tuesday. However, students will not be allowed to wear any masks or face paint. In addition, students should not bring any props to school that could be considered a distraction or potential safety risk within the school environment. While we definitely want students to enjoy the day, we also need to ensure that we are creating a safe environment for everyone. We are hoping that families will please talk with students about the expectations set for the day in order to ensure that they maintain school appropriate spirit on Tuesday. We appreciate your help with this as we approach next week.
Also, and as a reminder, Term I will close on November 13th. If you have not had the chance, please be sure to check your child's progress in each class on Aspen Parent Portal. Report Cards will be available in Aspen Portal on November 17th. If you have any questions or concerns regarding student progress, please be sure to reach out to classroom teachers. You can also reach out to a DMS administrator, or our Office of Student Services if you think that your child would benefit from additional support throughout the school day. As I said at the start of the year, two- way communication will be the key to student success at DMS, so please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
As we move into next week, please see below for important information, including picture retakes, no school days in November, SEPAC information, and the PTO's November Newsletter and WizFit Challenge.

Student Chromebook Repairs
In the event that a chromebook is damaged, lost or not working, please submit a Technology Helpdesk Ticket. Once the technicians have confirmation of the ticket, they will provide the student with a temporary device to be used while the damage is evaluated. If the damage is seemingly accidental damage, the chromebook will be repaired at no cost to the student. If you have any questions, please reach out to the DMS Main Office.
