Raise it up for the Tour de Pink!

East coast charity bike ride for Breast Cancer

Phillip Phillips - Home Remix: YSC Tour de Pink 2012 Web Series: East Coast Episode 4

1 in 8 women...

will develop invasive breast cancer in their lifetime.

As many of you know, this time last year I was one of those women, in the fight of my life, on bedrest and healing from a radical double mastectomy. This fall things are very different. Having just recently wrapped up 16 months of breast cancer treatment in July, I am no longer a patient, but a Breast Cancer SURVIVOR, in no small part because of YOUR support. And for that I will be forever grateful.

On September 19th -20th I am riding in my first multi-day charity bike event: The YSC Tour de Pink, a 200 mile bike ride for young women with breast cancer. The money I raise will go to support Young Survival Coalition, and ensure that young woman, JUST LIKE ME, will not face breast cancer alone. With the motto “Ride. Support. Inspire”, YSC Tour de Pink is much more than just a ride, it’s a chance to honor survivors, raise awareness and support important programs for young women with breast cancer.

I need your help! I have 4 more days to RAISE IT UP.

YSC Tour de Pink 2014- Riding Strong against Breast Cancer

I just love this woman's short personal video about for whom and why she rides... This weekend I am riding for the women who've been in side-step with me the whole way, the ladies of Nantucket's cancer group, for the sisterhood of women I've met online, through social media and the common bond our fight creates. I ride in memory of our friend Claudia Kronenberg Doughty and for my friend Usha Bilotta who is right now fighting a reoccurrence.
