What is a GMF?
A GMF or GMO is an organism or food which has been genetically altered in order to change or add certain genetic characteristics.
Benefits and Risks
Benefits: Foods resistant to harmful environmental factors or predators. Foods can be filled with vitamins and nutrients which they usually would not have. Foods can last longer (longer shelf life).
Risks: People may have allergic reactions to the GMO's. GMO's may escape into the wild and breed with other organisms. Small farms may be at a loss of business. Patents will cause controversy throughout companies and farmers.
Should GMF's be labeled?
GMF's should be labeled. There is no harm in labeling them. It would only benefit consumers and inform the public of what they are eating. The public should also be aware of the benefits and risks of GMF's
