Year Two of CVUSD's Unified Sports League is here!
Inclusion, engagement, and fun are at the center of Thousand Oaks High School, Newbury Park High School and Westlake High School’s second year of Unified Sports Leagues. At all three comprehensive high schools, the Unified Teams are comprised of approximately half Athletes (students with intellectual disabilities), and half Unified Partners (students without intellectual disabilities). With the success of last year’s Unified Basketball League – students at each school site had the opportunity to vote for three Unified Sports Leagues to participate in this year. Please join CVUSD's BreakThrough Student Assistance Program and the Conejo Schools Foundation for "Bouncing Back!" on Wednesday, November 13th from 7:00-8:30 PM. This FREE event will provide parents/guardians with the opportunity to learn practical strategies to support students in managing anxious feelings and overcoming personal obstacles, understand the impact of trauma and how to support students in healing so they can bounce back! CVUSD Students Outperform County & Statewide Achievement Levels in 2019 CAASPP Test Results
The results of the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) tests, which were completed by students in grades 3-8 and 11 last spring, were released today by the California Department of Education. This is the fifth year students across the state, including Conejo Valley Unified School District, completed the test. CAASPP is a computer based test, which asks students to write clearly, think critically, and solve complex problems to gauge students’ progress in learning California’s academic standards. Read more
Maple Elementary School Dedicates Unity Tree
Maple Elementary students gathered on Monday, October 28th for a special Unity Tree Dedication event. The event, part of the school’s participation in National Bullying Prevention Month, featured a school-wide assembly that emphasized the importance of being kind to one another, and concluded with students and staff placing rocks, decorated with messages of Kindness, Acceptance, and Inclusion, around the base of the landmark Unity Tree, creating a colorful and permanent reminder that everyone is welcome at Maple Elementary! CVUSD Recognizes October as National Bullying Prevention Month
During the month of October communities across the nation campaign to raise awareness and educate people on the long term effects that bullying has on children. The goal of recognizing National Bullying Prevention Month in the Conejo Valley Unified School District is to encourage parents, students, and staff to unite against bullying and share the message that no one deserves to be bullied. CVUSD Celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month
CVUSD was proud to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15! National Hispanic Heritage Month honors the contributions Hispanic and Latino Americans have made to our Nation and society. At the Tuesday, October 15th Board of Education meeting Resolution #19/10-05 for National Hispanic Heritage Month was adopted. Read more
