Only 8 School Days Until Graduation
Class of 2021,
It was great seeing more than 300 of our Seniors in the Panther Stadium last Friday night! Senior Sunset was a great success! We hope you Seniors enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed having you there.
That event would not have taken place without the support of the Panther Community. Numerous parents donated money and prizes to help provide good food and fun for our students and we are so grateful. Nothing Bundt Cakes, Kernel Bob's Kettle Corn, Sharky's, and so many other local business helped out. If you get a chance please support these businesses and help keep that sense of community going.
With that, we still have many prizes to give away and will be offering opportunities to win them at Grad Practices, and throughout the last 8 Days Until Graduation.

2021 Graduation Information
Graduation Ceremony
To insure that every student receives his/her recognition on this important day, the graduating class would appreciate the audience refraining from making loud noises during the ceremony so that all speeches and graduates’ names can be heard. Also please understand the following rules will be in place:
- All attendees must wear masks as per CDPH Face Coverings Guidance and maintain distance of at least 6 feet from other attendees at all times, other than with household members.
- Individuals who are sick or in isolation or quarantine must remain at home.
- No food or drink is permitted during the ceremony.
- Flowers and leis for graduates must be given after the ceremony concludes.
- Balloons must be kept outside the stadium to not impede anyone’s view of the field. Umbrellas used for shade will need to be collapsed when the ceremony begins.
- Air horns, cow bells and other noise makers will be confiscated by security at the gate.
- Graduates and attendees are asked to leave the stadium and exit the campus immediately after the ceremony. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we ask all guests to exit the stadium and meet their graduates off campus after the ceremony ends. We will not be gathering on the quad or other locations on campus per CDPH Guidance. Thank you for your understanding. See below for Diploma Pickup Information.
*Graduates that choose not to participate in the ceremony will not be offered an alternative ceremony in lieu of the in-person graduation (No Drive Thru Option).
Graduation Practice
Graduation Tickets-Last Day to Purchase Friday, May 28th
Ticket Sales End This Friday, May 28th:
We are following California Department of Public Health Guidelines for this year's in-person ceremony, one of them being the capacity number for our stadium and track. This number allows for 4 guests per graduate; unfortunately we are unable to deviate from that number. 4 Guests=4 Bodies, so babies, toddler, and kids all count towards the guest number.
All graduates will automatically receive 2 free tickets for the ceremony, and have the option to purchase up to 2 more tickets for $10 a piece, allowing up to 4 total guests per graduate. We are unable to do a waitlist or issue more than four tickets to any senior. If you are looking for more tickets, you will need to work with other Senior families who are not using all of theirs. Seating will be spaced based on four people of the same household, so no more than four people will be able to sit in any designated area.
Tickets are available to purchase online only, now thru Friday, May 28th, from the NPHS Student Store Website. No tickets will be sold after that date, so be sure to get your tickets on time. There are no refunds on graduation tickets.
All Tickets (Complimentary & Purchased) will be distributed to Seniors following their Grad Practice on June 9th.
Handicapped Seating: Seniors, if anyone in your family attending the graduation ceremony will require handicapped seating, please fill go to http://bit.ly/2021GradHandicap to fill out a seating request form. Handicap seating availability and reservations are limited, and not guaranteed so please do not delay. The form needs to be submitted by May 28th.
Graduation Attire & Regalia
At NPHS each graduate is to wear a black graduation gown, cap, a 2021 tassel, and a 2021 NPHS Class Stole to the graduation ceremony. We will be providing black, triple layer disposable masks for all graduates to wear during the ceremony. Individual students may receive specific academic recognition stoles/cords/pins for accomplishments they have made at NPHS. Those students will be recognized at the Virtual Senior Recognition Night on May 26th , and there will be a regalia drive thru pick up on Wed., June 2nd from 11-1pm.
Our CVUSD Board Policy states that any graduating student who has completed basic training and is an active member of any branch of the United States Armed Forces may, at the student's option, wear a military dress uniform at the ceremony (Education Code 35183.3). Any student who has officially enlisted shall be permitted to wear a recognized object provided by any branch of the United States Armed Forces.
Students shall be permitted to wear tribal regalia or recognized objects of religious or cultural significance as an adornment to the customary ceremonial attire, as long as the adornment does not cause a substantial disruption of, or material interference with, the graduation ceremony (Education Code 35183.1). “Adornment” means something attached to, or worn with, but not replacing, the cap and gown customarily worn at school graduation ceremonies. “Cultural” means recognized practices and traditions of a certain group of people.
Students are not permitted to decorate their caps. Students are also not permitted to have any other adornments without prior administrative approval. Students who desire to wear military dress or any cultural/religious adornments needed to notify the school principal at least 14 days before the graduation (May 25) for approval.
If you do not have your black gown, black cap, Class of 2021 tassel and Class of 2021 stole, please contact Elise Laina, elaina@conejousd.org ASAP!
IS YOUR GRADUATION GOWN WRINKLED??
A big ‘Thank You’ to local Newbury Park drycleaner, Park Place Cleaners, located at 501 S. Reino Rd in the Albertson’s strip mall. They have offered to press any NPHS senior’s gown and stoles, free of charge. Please bring your gown & stole (no caps or tassels, please) before June 1st.

Senior remote students may return their textbooks on either Monday, June 7, or Tuesday, June 8. Both days, students are asked to follow this schedule:

Students will be held responsible for any damages or missing books. If you are returning a Chromebook, please return both the device and the charger.
Parents should check their email accounts for a message from the library that listed all the materials that are due and share it with their students.
